SOLO Swiss Group has participated in HK 2014 - the Colloquium for heat treatment, materials science, product- and process-engineering - from 22^th to 24^th October in Cologne - Germany.

The SOLO Swiss Group was present in pavilion 4.1, and would like to thank all the visitors who came to booth E-022. 

The Haertereikolloquium is a professional convention conveying in about 30 dissertations results of the latest development and research as well as experience from practical work with heat treatment.

SOLO Swiss multi-purpose heat treatment furnace for industrial needles manufacturer

SOLO Swiss, manufacturer of industrial controlled atmosphere furnaces since 1945, delivered a uniquely designed heat treatment furnace type Profitherm 80 to a South Korean company specialized in manufacturing industrial needles.

This furnace P80 has been designed by Solo Swiss to match the customer’s specific requirements for the treatment of needles used in their industrial weaving or knitting machines.

This heat furnace is equipped with an oil quenching tank. A variety of gas (methanol, propane, air, ammonia, nitrogen) combines the austenitizing, the carburizing and the carbonitriding to meet the specifications of metallurgical expenses of the customer.

With a useful load of 80 kg, this furnace is ideal to treat small parts such as industrial needles. The reliability of the results (hardness, carburizing depth and distortion) remains perfect with the parts being placed in bulk, or vertically, preventing any distortion.

SOLO Swiss is looking for a Senior Metallurgist Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Senior Metallurgist, you will be responsible for providing critical support to engineering equipment and process development. You will work in liaison with Design Engineers, our Sales Department, and our After-Sales service to meet our clients’ requirements.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and implement research, development, or engineering projects involving high impact and high complexity heat treatment processing and furnace manufacturing.
• Follow through to completion assigned special projects involving new concepts in manufacturing processes or special equipment along with maintaining detailed reports of status 
• Assist in the tryout of special heat treating equipment
• Provide metallurgical assistance for the maintenance and repair of heat treating and processing equipment 
• Develop processing methods and controls, design equipment and operating procedures as well as recipes for various processes including hardening, carburising, nitriding, quench and temper and salt baths.
• Ensure Nadcap and other high quality standards compliance and leads audits.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

• Strong metallurgical background in atmosphere furnaces manufacturing or commercial heat treating plant,
• Must have the ability to travel to client sites in Europe and Asia
• Good verbal and written communication skills both in English and French

QUALIFICATIONS

•      Engineering or Master degree in material science
•      Must have 10+ years of experience in Metal heat treatment environment
•      Eligible to work in Switzerland without sponsorship
